Upper Mustang trekking, wonderful Annapurna trekking which leads the trekkers beyond Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs to explore the “Hidden World”. A new trekking route in Nepal to discover the hidden traditions, cultural and living style of the local living in Mustang region which looks something similar to Tibetan culture.
The lifestyle here is unaffected by the modernization. During the trekking one can explore the thousand years old monasteries, mysterious caves, amazing landscapes. One can also collect the stunning views of the snowcapped mountains. Trekking through the Kaligandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world is something special during the trekking.
The best seasons for trekking Upper Mustang are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). But trekking in Monsoon is also possible as Upper Mustang is also known as the desert of Nepal which used to have less raining even in the monsoon.
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,334m.): Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, one of our representative will welcome and will help you transfer to the hotel. Get refreshed on free time. Overnight.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing (1,334m.): A full day guided Kathmandu valley sightseeing is dedicated to explore some of the UNESCO World Heritage listed sites in Kathmandu which includes, Soyambhunath- “The Monkey Temple”, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square. After sightseeing we can prepare the necessary equipment for trekking. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Drive(6 hrs)/fly (30 minutes) to Pokhara (820m.): Take a scenic drive to Pokhara. In Pokhara you can walk around in the free time. Overnight.
Day 4: Fly to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni (2,858m. /3-4 hours): Take early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. From Jomsom we will take short trek to Kagbeni. Overnight at Kagbeni.
Day 5: Kagbeni to Chele (3,050m. /5-6 hours). The hiking to Chele is a relaxing one where you climb some ascents and follow some descending trail to get to Chele. Overnight.
Day 6: Chele to Geling (3,500m. / 4-5 hours): This day you will further trek from Chele to Geling. It takes us four to five hours trekking to reach Geling from Chele. Overnight
Day 7: Geling to Charang (3,620m. /4-5 hours): From Geling the trail ascends up to Plateau and then will pass some Mani wall. From there you will head east and will trek to Charang where you can explore white dzong and red Gompa. Overnight at Charang.
Day 8: Charang to Lo-Mangthang (3700m. /5-6 hours): One the way to Lo-Mangthang you can collect the magnificent views of Annapurna I, Tilicho, Nilgiri and Bhrikuti. Overnight.
Day 9: Acclimatization day: Rest day in Lo-Mangthang valley. On the free day explore Mustang King Palace and some old monasteries at Lo-Mangthang. Overnight.
Day 10: Lo-Mangthang to Ghami (3545m. / 5-6 hours): This day you will trek further to Ghami. It takes five to six hours trekking to get to Ghami from Lo-Manthang. Overnight.
Day 11: Ghami to Samar (3,356m. /4-5 hours):This day you will trek beautiful Samar village. It will take us four to five hours to trek Samar from Ghami. Reach Samar enjoy exploring around wonderful village.
Day 12: Ghami to Kagbeni (2,858m. /7-8 hours): This day you will trek to Kagbeni It will be a long trekking day. Overnight at Kagbeni.
Day 13: Kagbeni to Jomsom (2,700m. /3-4 hours): An easy and short trekking day which is about three to four hours trekking. In Jomsom we can explore around. Overnight at Jomsom.
Day 14: Fly to Pokhara (820m. / 30 minutes flight): Take early morning flight back to Pokhara. In Pokhara you will have enough time to explore the amazing city. Overnight.
Day 15: Drive(6 hrs)/fly (30 minutes) back Kathmandu (1,334m. / 6 hours): Travel back to Kathmandu overland or take spectacular flight to get back Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, do some last minute shopping. Overnight.
Day 16: Fly back home: One of our representative will transfer you to the Kathmandu airport to catch your returning flight. We hope to see you again in Nepal.
