As drive continues heading due west overlooking views of high snow capped peaks towards south direction that borders Nepal and Tibet territory a beautiful that follows all the way to sacred Manasrover Lake in the shadow of holy Mt. Kailash.
Mt. Kailash and Manasrover Lake Overland Tour of more than two week duration adventure within high and dry country of Tibet, offers glorious views of its dramatic windswept country.
Starts from the capital Kathmandu in Nepal, where drive leads to northern hills of Langtang and Ganesh Himal to enter into Tibet / China border at Kyirong a frontier town of Nepal and Tibet.
With time at Kyirong to get familiar with high altitude as well with local Tibetan culture of Buddhism religion an impressive custom to witness while traveling within great Tibetan terrain.
 Drive follows on leaving the green vegetation and tree lines into barren and arid country as route leads into inner areas of South West Tibet and heading further west to reach at sacred great Manasrover Lake.
Manasrover a huge lake covering an area of 110 kms takes four hours drive to complete the circuit of the lake located at Barkha valley with views of Mt. Kailash towards north and high peaks of Gurla-Mandata in the south direction.
Manasrover Lake considered as sacred lake in Hindu religion as well for some Buddhist followers, the name Manasrover comes from ancient Sanskrit word which means mind and soul of great Hindu God Brahma.
Where Mt. Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva regarded as holiest of all holy mountains on this world, where four great religions Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Bonpo (early pre-sect of Buddhism) worships the lake and holy Mt. Kailash.
For Buddhist Kailash is known by the name as Kang-Rinpoche a forbidden mountain to climb which is at the height of 6,714 m and 22,028ft high with four cardinal face resembles Crystal the eastern face, the west as Ruby, the south Sapphire with Gold of the North direction.
Truly an exceptional mountain where four great rivers flows from the glacial source of Mt. Kailash like the vast Brahmaputra, Karnali, Sutlej and Yamuna Rivers.  
After a spiritual and holy moment at sacred Manasrover Lake, drive leads to south of Mt. Kailash at Darchen a busy town flooded by pilgrims especially Indian Hindu followers and some local Buddhist pilgrims.
From Darchen a short drive to western end of Mt. Kailash to reach at holy spot of Tarboche a place with tall Buddhist flag pole where kora-parikrama and circuit begins cover all sides of holy Mt. Kailash.
Walk leads to wards dry and arid country to reach a small settlement at Dhiraphuk and then steep climb takes you on top Droma-la pass the highest and most-holiest spot of the walks at the height of 5,470 m high.
Incredible views of Mt. Kailash North Face where the pass festooned with thousands of Buddhist colorful prayer flags with some rock cairns, in snow deep leads to quite strenuous climb to reach the high side of Mt. Kailash parikrama and holy circuit.   
From the top a steep and long descend takes you to wide Lamchu valley where pleasant walk takes you to a holy cave known as Zutul-Phuk, a place with foot-prints of saint Milereppa a poet and tantric Guru of 11th  Century.
Completing one most fantastic adventure and journey of a lifetime experience where drive leads trough high and vast Tibetan plateau with ever present views of distant snow capped peaks.
Drive leads past many rural farm villages and town within Yak and sheep grazing country-land where you can observe Yak herder big tents on route the journey.
Journey follows through number of passes to reach a large town of Saga where drive leads over a bridge of Brahmaputra River, also known as Yarlung Tsangpo in local Tibetan language. 
After Saga town which is located on the midway of Lhasa-Everest and towards Nepal routes where our adventure follows a wide green valley to enter a river gorge to reach at Kyirong town.
 At Kyirong for last overnight stop in Tibet / China where drive leads to cross into Nepal frontier village of Rasuwagaddi within Langtang and Ganesh Himal range of Rasuwa district.
Soon ending our fantastic adventure with drive back to Kathmandu to complete our enjoyable and adventure on Mt. Kailash and Manasrover Lake Overland Tour.
Brief Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,345 m and then transfer to Hotel
Day 02:  In Kathmandu sightseeing tour and preparations for trek.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m from Kathmandu via Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.
Day 04: Drive to Kyirong 2,890 m in local Guesthouse - 04 hrs.
Day 05: At Kyirong acclimatization day and explore Tibetan culture.
Day 06: Drive to Saga 4,400m - 05 hrs.
Day 07: Drive to west side of Manasrover at Chu-Gompa 4,545 m - 06 hrs.
Day 08: At Manasrover Lake afternoon short drive to Darchen 4,620 m with 
time to visit its busy markets.
Day 09: Drive to Tarboche 4,680 m start walk to Dhirapuk 4, 630 m - 05 hrs. 
Day 10: Trek to Zutul-Puk 4,730 m and over high Dorma-la pass - 6 hrs.
Day 11: Trek near Darchen and drive to Dzongba 4,560 m - 06 hrs.
Day 12: Drive to Kyirong - 06 hrs journey with overnight in local guest-house.
Day 13: Drive to Dhunche town 1,950 m - 04 hrs.
Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel - 05 hrs.
Day 15: International departure for homeward bound.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu via international airlines and transfer to hotel.
On first arrival at Nepal international airport in Kathmandu received by Mountain Holiday staff and guide for short drive that takes you in the heart of Kathmandu city at Thamel area, where most of nice hotels situated.
At the hotel after checking in and getting refreshed our guide briefs about Kailash Overland tour and treks with other necessary information regarding your stay in Nepal and Tibet with us.
Evening includes group welcome dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese restaurant with cultural program to give you the glimpse of local culture with music and dance while having your dinner.
Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour around world heritage sites.
In Kathmandu for exciting sightseeing tour where our expert city guide will show you around interesting places of great wonders within world heritage sites, after a great and enjoyable tour back to hotel with time for Kailash Overland preparations.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m - 07 hrs journey.
Morning drive past Kathmandu valley to Dhunche town and reaching at Syabrubesi village for first overnight stop
 
Located around Langtang Himal region of Rasuwa district the home of Tamang 
people the hill tribe of Himalaya and as well on route to Tibet border.
 
Day 04: Drive to Kyirong 2,890 m in local Guesthouse - 04 hrs.
After Syabrubesi morning drive on newly constructed road linking Nepal and Tibet to reach at Rasuwa-Gadhi (1,800m / 15 km / 1 hr min from Syabrubesi)
From here enter into Tibet, where you will be received by our Tibetan guide and drivers, after completing immigration and custom formalities on the both side in  Nepal and at Tibet border of Rasuwa-Gadhi, and then continue drive further to Kyirong with first overnight stop within Tibet where accommodation will be in local guest-house.
At Kyirong afternoon with time to relax and enjoy views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal that borders Nepal and Tibet.
 
Day 05: At Kyirong acclimatization day explore culture of Tibet.
At Kyirong for acclimatization before heading towards higher areas where Kyirong at 2,890 m provides good spot for rest and to explore around to get in with local culture and climate condition.
 
Day 06: Drive to Saga 4,400m - 05 hrs.
Morning drive on wide vast Tibetan plateau crossing several high passes with great views of mountain range
Drive continues with some small stops around villages and nomads camps witness sheep’s and yak grazing in the yard.
Journey leads to remote corners of Tibet past farm villages finally drive leads to a bridge over Brahmaputra River in Tibet known as Yalung Tsangpo which flows from the very source of Mt. Kailash.
Reaching a bridge over Brahmaputra reach at Saga, slowly developing into moderate size town with nice lodge, hotels and restaurants, here check into the best available hotels or guest houses.
Day 07: Drive west side of Manasrover at Chu-Gompa 4,545 m - 06 hrs.
Morning drive leads to Saga town, after few hour drives that lead to a climb over high pass and then down-hill to a long stretch flat area 
On a clear day great views of snow capped peaks towards North West that border with Nepal, after few hours of scenic drive reaching into a windswept village at Paryang.
Drive lead to Kailash area within Barkha valley as journey leads past many small farm villages and nomads camps with large Tibetan tents serving as teahouses and restaurants.
Drive climb over Mayam-la pass at 5,050 m high, with long descend to reach near level on gradual road to reach west side of Manasrover Lake at Chu-Gompa for overnight stop with views of Mt. Kailash.
Day 08: At Manasrover Lake afternoon drive to Darchen 4,620 m.
Morning free at holy Lake Manasrover located between Mt. Kailash 6,714 meters and Gurla Mandhata Mountain Range stands at 7,694 meters. 
Where Lake Manasrover floats beneath shadow of holy Mt. Kailash as this lake forms the mind of God, as the name Manas.  
Here interested pilgrims can perform puja rites with dips in this sacred lake within shallow area by the shore.
In Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religion, holiest lake of Asia; best time to go around Lake Manasrover in late autumn and early spring when the streams and rivers are low. 
Then possible to walk very near the shoreline, an optional drive around Manasrover Lake can be done on request which takes about four hours.
After performing puja an interesting short hike to Chu Gompa on a shelf of a over-hanging cliff cave, adorned with Buddhism arts and ancient idols of Lord Buddha and other high Gurus. 
Afternoon short drive to main town of Kailash at Darchen, a place with many shops-stores and lodges with Guest-House, an interesting market to visit around and observe Tibetan traditional life and culture, during auspicious time this place flooded with Tibetan and Indian pilgrims for Kora, parikrama or holy circuit walks.
Day 09: Drive past Darchen to Tarboche 4,680 m start walk to Dhirapuk 4,970 m 
             -05 hrs in lodge or camping.
After Darchen morning starts with short drive to reach Tarboche, a holy spot of the region with excellent views of Mt. Kailash West Face
From here walk begins heading north on wide terrain towards Shershong, then climb to reach overnight stop at Dhiraphuk Gompa, with magnificent views of holy Mt. Kailash North Face. 
Here depending upon the season with mass number of pilgrim’s staying either in guest houses or tents with our own camping facilities.
Day 10: Trek to Zutul-Puk 4,760 m and over high Dorma-la pass - 6 hrs.
From Dhiraphuk morning walk continues heading uphill trail onto moraine of more than two hours, then with steep climb to reach on top Dormo-la pass at above 5,630m /18,525ft.
A holy spot close views of Mt. Kailash North Face at highest point of the walk, where big boulder represent goddess Dolma or Dromo (Tara) festooned with thousands of prayer flags and offering by both Hindu’s and Buddhist pilgrims. 
A holy spot after feeling physical and spiritual on the high point of pilgrimage, parikrama or Kora, from here descends to Lamchu wide valley and at Zutul-Puk Gompa for overnight stop, either in lodge or in tented camp. 
Zuthul means cave in Tibetan, this place named after a holy cave in which poet, and saint Milereppa meditate in early 11th century, his footprints can be seen on the cave roof top.
Day 11: Trek near Darchen and drive to Dzongba 4,560 m - 06 hrs.
Last day of walk and parikrama or circuit in Tibet Kora morning walk leads to a nice gradual walk for few hours on winding trail, to reach a narrow valley into a river gorge of great Karnali River.
From here short walk to meet the trail heading towards Darchen, where walk ends for a drive just an hour before Darchen, after completing our holy trek drive towards near Mayum-la pass base and continue to reach at old Dzongba town for overnight stop.
Day 12:  Drive to Kyirong - 05 hrs journey with overnight in local guest-house.
An exciting time at Kailash drive back to reach Kyirong frontier town, journey leads past great Tibetan dry plateau 
Drive leads on newly opened route of five hours overland drive to reach border town of Tibet-China and Nepal at Kyirong for last overnight stop in Tibetan side.
Day 13: Drive to Nepal side at Dhunche 1,900 m for overnight stop - 05 hrs. Bidding farewell to our Tibetan guides and driver where morning journey starts after leaving Tibet taking a short drive to cross inside Nepal at Rasuwa-Gadhi.
After completing visa and custom formalities at Rasuwa Gadhi, continue drive on dirt road for a while to reach at Syabrubesi village, after a short refreshing break journey continues on winding uphill to reach Dhunche town for overnight stop.
Day 14: International departure for homeward bound.
Last day in Nepal a country of high Himalayan Mountains with colorful culture, from the hotel our guide and staff transfers you to the airport for your international flight for homeward, after a great experience on Mardi Himal Trekking with Mountain Holidays Treks and Expedition.
