Island Peak, one of the technical climbing peak in Nepal. Located in the Everest Region, it is one of the finest peak climbing trip in Nepal. Island Peak climbing offers enjoy a technical peak climbing experience plus to explore the natural and cultural wonders of Everest Region.
Island Peak is also widely popular as “Imje Tse”. As it is levelled as the technical peak, the climbers are suggested to have some previous climbing experience or some ice climbing training before going for Island Peak Climbing.
The best time to climb Island Peak is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu(1334m): Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, one of our representative will welcome you and help you to transfer to the hotel. Take a rest good in free time. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Half Day Kathmandu Sightseeing and Gear managing: A half day sightseeing is dedicated to introduce some of the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Sites in Kathmandu Valley. After the sightseeing, there will be enough time for the gear preparation. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla, and trek to Phakding: Take an early flight to Lukla. In Lukla you will meet the remaining crews. Then this day you will trek upto Phakding for the overnight. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 4: Phakding-Namche Bazar (3440m/11280ft.): Follow the Dudhkoshi bank, on the clear day you will be welcomed with the first glimpses of the Mount Everest and other neighboring mountains. Namche Bazar is also popular as the “Sherpa Capital”. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 5: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazar: This day you can walk around the wonderful Bazar. In Namche Bazar, you can also check the gears and hire if you have forgotten any in Kathmandu. Overnight at Teahouse.
Day 6: Namache Bazar to Tengboche( 3870m./12,694ft.)-The trail goes ups and downs and magnificent views of Mt Everest, Mt Nuptse, Mt Lhotse and close views of Thamserkhu and Amadablam will accompany along the way to Tengboche. In Tengboche you can also visit Tengboche monastery, which is one of the biggest in the Himalayas. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 7: Tengboche to Dingboche(4,360/12,694ft.): Pass several Chortens and Mani walls and small villages during this day. This day we also cross a village name Pangboche where the oldest Monastery of Everest Region is located. From Dingboche, you can also collect some of the stunning mountains views. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 8: Dingboche to Chukhung(4,730m): Enjoy inspiring views of Amadablam and Lhotse mountains on the way to Chukhung. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 9: Island Peak Basecamp.(5200m.)- Take steep up trail which first climb south and then turns to east. It then gradually leads us to Island Peak Base Camp. On the way to base camp we can see wonderful Lhoste Glacier.At base camp prepare the tent and you can enjoy the wonderful views in the free time.
Day 10: Summit Island Peak and back to Base Camp (5,600m):Avoiding the wind is one of the best way to successful summit, to avoid the wind start early morning around 2am. The way to summit is quite technical so you have be aware and climb slowly and carefully. After the successful summit, you will again retrace back to Base Camp for overnight.
Day 11: Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche (3,985m):Descend down trail through Khmubu valley, further pass some beautiful Sherpa settlements of Orsho and Somare before reaching Pangboche. Pangboche itself offers stunning views of Mt Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kangtaiga. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 12: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: From Pangboche, first trek to Tengboche, the Everest view point. Further trek to Namche Bazar for the overnight. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: Retrace back to Lukla where you will wait for the next day flight. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 14: Fly to Kathmandu: Take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu you will have free time for the last minute shopping. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Fly back home: One of our representative will transfer you to the Kathmandu Airport to catch the returning flight back home.
